The Corner at Coral Mountain

December 31, 2021|

Good afternoon! Did you know that plans for Coral Mountain Resort include “The Corner,” a unique neighborhood market located on the southwest corner of Avenue 58 and Madison Street? Coral Mountain’s vision of The Corner means increased access to necessities and products currently unavailable within a 5-mile drive, in addition to opportunities for social interaction. Here you may find gathering places where residents of surrounding neighborhoods can have a coffee or sandwich, socialize, or even enjoy a quiet reflective moment contemplating views of Coral Mountain and the majestic Santa Rosas. The Corner celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the Coachella Valley.  Though programming is still underway, its core values are “farm-to-table” principles that emphasize fresh, locally grown and produced food, as well as other artisanal products. Food and beverage outlets at The Corner and within the Coral Mountain neighborhood will provide produce and design menus around offerings from the onsite farm area.  Landscape plantings that incorporate “edible plant palette” approaches are being explored with the design team. Coral Mountain hopes The Corner will also be a resource for the neighborhood where our core values of inclusivity and community service [...]

Coral Mountain Update

December 17, 2021|

With public hearings approaching early next year, we felt it important to re-energize outreach efforts with our new Facebook page which can be accessed at this link: https://www.facebook.com/CoralMountainResort As the Coral Mountain development progresses through the approval process, we are committed to transparency and open communication.  The City’s exhaustive Final EIR, pending publication, confirms less-than-significant environmental impacts. Since the start of this process, it has been disappointing to see the hyperbole and many mischaracterizations being spread in the community and on social media in an attempt to taint public perceptions of the project. Though there has been an ongoing, open dialogue with neighbors and community stakeholders through meetings, website updates and emails, this deceptive narrative persists. Our objective is to continue to inform and engage the community in a meaningful way. Therefore, we are initiating a series of e-blasts in which different project topics will be addressed each week.  We encourage healthy discourse and hope facts about the development and our plans will be shared by objective residents with others. You can also support the project by: Visiting coralmountainlaquinta.com to learn more about the resort [...]

Study: Surf Park Would Have Little Noise Impact

July 1, 2021|

La Quinta residents have also questioned water usage While vocal group of residents in La Quinta have deemed a proposed masterplan resort with surf park in La Quinta “the wrong project” at “the wrong time,” a draft environmental impact study has found the development would have little impact on surrounding communities with regard to noise, and that annual water usage would be well under the 1,200 acre-feet allowed by the Coachella Valley Water District. Water usage and the potential for traffic and noise are some of the top concerns that have been raised by area residents regarding Coral Mountain Resort, which plans for a wave park with “the largest, rideable openbarrel, human-made wave in the world” created by world-champion pro-surfer Kelly Slater. The draft environmental impact report is available for public review and comments at the city of La Quinta’s website. Coral Mountain Resort is proposed for 386 acres of mostly vacant land on the southwest corner of Avenue 58 and Madison Street. Project developer Meriwether Cos. Is proposing a mix of uses including up to 600 custom homes with starting prices of $2.5 [...]
